supercasual afternoon stroll

today, i bring you super-casual no-petticoat criminal activity.

i went on a date with my partner today! because it's getting warmer and we had to do some traveling, i opted for a way casual and toned-down comfy outfit, not really a full lolita coordinate at all. just something cute and light for the warming weather!

 

we were originally going to go to a cafe, but decided that we were hungry enough for an early dinner instead. we ended up going to a cute diner for some sandwiches and ice cream.

 

 

 

 after eating, we checked out a nearby bookstore. my partner bought a book on birding, and with it, got a free advance copy of a graphic novel, which they gave to me. it's called champion of the rose, i haven't read it yet but the art is beautiful, and it's a fantasy with swordfighting which i luvvvv. the illustrator for it is also the art director for until then!! i'm really excited to get into this since i have some days off coming up.

 

 

before journeying home, we went for a little stroll by the river. there was a nice breeze, which gave us some relief from the sweltering 70 degree/~21 celsius heat. (we're midwesterners. we're weak.) the water was beautiful, and we only had slight trouble navigating the path that had been partially swallowed up by the river.

 we saw some beautiful sights and cool boats, and i got more of an opportunity to break in the new boots. (ow, my heels) it was a lovely day, and by the end of the evening, we were ready to go home and laze around and play video games in our pajamas.
